Martina Topley Bird

Martina was interviewed on JJJ radio in Australia and said she's recorded a "new" album for release this July.  Apparently it was recorded at Damon Albarn's studio and contains re-worked versions of previously released tracks from both albums as well as 3-4 new songs.  She says it's more stripped down and features her and her percussion ninja on different instruments.

OH MY GOD, That is AWESOME. I seriously, seriously can't wait.

I won't be able to sleep until July now. Thanks.
Oh, that's nice news but... I'd rather to hear completely new stuff.

I remember one interview with Martina when she said her next album would be more 'tribal', anyway.
Personally, I love hearing different versions of songs artists do, like demos, remixes and alternative live versions, so this seems really cool to me. It also means that she's working in the studio, which is good, and since she usually has quite a lot of down time between albums, and if it's going to be at least another year or two until her next full length, this should tide us over until it comes out.
Yeah, you're right. :)

BTW I liked the samples of all songs, looking forward to hear the whole.
But yeah really want a new full album too! Tribal is always good.

Really want her to work with Leila some more or at least get her to make a few remixes. She's so brilliant. <3
This sounds quite similar to what she did with 'Quixotic'/'Anything'... she never released 'The Blue God' here in Australia, so maybe this re-jigged album will make it to our shores as the non-UK album equivalent to 'The Blue God'? I really hope she uses the loop pedal idea (like on tour) on this new 'album'...what better instrument does she have at her disposal than her actual voice? :)

I am extremely excited, I want details now! Even an album name.
Album is titled "Someplace Simple"
