Hopefully you've all managed to have a listen to a few tracks from Martina's new album- we would love to know what you think. What are your new favourites etc etc?

Valentine's grown on me... the tracks all feel more accomplished in the singing, production and structure... and I think Martina's singing genius comes across a lot better on them than the last record...
really good. I loved quixotic, this is different but thats what i would expect. Think i can spot a few influences already. Voice is still delicious to!!
But it's Valentine that I'm in LOVE with.. what an awesome track. I've been listening to it for the past two days straight. It's beautiful.. does anyone else get.. hmm.. soldiers from it? Like, it sounds like the partner of a soldier who has awoken in the night with a feeling that the soldier has died. She wakes up, feeling around for the soldier, still kind of in a dream daze.. and just kind of knows what's happened before it's been stated.
I'm excited about this album, haha, I JUST heard of MTB a few days ago!
I adore The Blue God, i greatly prefer it to Quixotic actually. Definitely my favorite album of 2008 and possibly ever. It's a little bit less experimental than i usually go for though and i'm surprised i love it as much as i do.
About Portishead's new album, it's brilliant but it didn't keep my attention at all :S
Maxinquaye is still one of the best albums ever made due in (a big) part to Martina obviously.
My little boy, now 6, who's name is Ilya was just few months old when Quixotic was released, thanks you for that! Martina can do no wrong, except maybe leaving it 5 odd years between The Blue God and her next work of art...... Great show at Meltdown, you looked and sounded stunning.. One love MTB x
Soldier Boy is really becoming one of my favorite Martina songs. I got a little naughty yesterday and made an edit for myself; cut out the rapping and extended her singing. If anyone would like it, PM me (if you have the single already, of course).
