I was at this, Martina was actually on about 10, I think, it was after Fantomas on the main stage anyway and I was already buzzing from that as I wandered next door. It was quiet in there so we got a couple of drinks and made our way to the front. I lost my friends later but made new ones, Martina was amazing, I wish it had been twice as long. People who weren't there thought that she had been heckled by idiots but I would like to clear this up cos from where I was standing I heard the guy perfectly. Martina came on and he shouted 'you are the shit, Martina' I am 100% certain that it was meant to be complimentary and the Australian girl who told me about the heckler (who wasn't there herself!) perhaps doesn't get our British way of saying things. I think everyone loved Martina at ATP, she was perfect. The only thing that ruined it for me - Lydia Lunch stomping out after her, Martina should have been before Mark Lanegan, there was no need to separate Teenage Jesus into two 20 min sets and ruin the mood Martina had created for Soulsavers & Mark Lanegan to follow up. Nevertheless, what a great night.
